No bulfinch’s mythology on the list ?
“You Shall not Pass?”
[link edited out]
There was a link to a comic with gandalf telling Frodo he would not pass in the comment above. Not sure if this commenter was trying to point out that someone else stole my joke or that I stole the joke in the link. Their’s was created January 2011 (mine was made last year), so either they stole it from me or they just drew the same conclusion that I did, independently. Either way, there’s not much to do about it. I’m also not interested in sending traffic to it so I edited the link out, sorry!
You should try the Eddas for Norse Myth! love your comics 😀 keep it up!
Scott, you totally need an “about” or “bio” section.
Hey, I love the comic! You said you have critiques next week and I was wondering what you’re taking…because if its some kind of art thing, I’d love to see some of it.
For Norse non-God level mythology Try Hralf Kraki’s saga by Poul Anderson.
You mentioned in one comment (that I found via stumble) that you were running a Republican comic. I was expecting links to it here.
It was a single strip about the US republican party that I did almost 2 two years ago, actually. I was just saying that it was the most contentious strip in the archives for some reason. People assume that because I despise the GOP, I must love the democrats or that I despise people that vote republican, so I’ve had a few angry comments and emails about it. It’s a ways back toward the beginning of the archive.
I prefer the Anthony Faulke translation of Snorri Sturluson’s Prose Edda for Norse mythology. You are probably already aware of it but I thought I’d mention it because it is basically required reading for anyone serious about Norse mythology.
Whatever happened to the ten thousand masks project? Is it still a thing?
I’m not sure, honestly. William seems to be doing his own thing these days, I want to do something with it, but I haven’t really talked to him about it lately.
=[
you’ve got an extra “http//” breaking the greenberry link
asian legends are awesome..
btw, i noticed no link for the metamorphoses. here’s one: The Metamorphosis
The Icelandic Sagas is awesome book, huge recommendations.
Might I suggest Wilkinson’s The Complete Gods and Goddesses of Ancient Egypt? It’s been recommended to me by other practitioners of Kemetic Reconstructionism as a very accurate book.
Any recommendations for Egyptian mythology?
