Love reading these whenever there are lulls during Pathfinder sessions, anyways, this situation (well, similar) has occurred many a time when ordered out. Can’t say I feel Jesus’ pain, was more of the Judas (until I was finally able to pay for it).
Yeah, those paintings of “Jesus” are quite a joke. I mean, first of all, he was Jewish, which, when you partner with the fact that he was a carpenter, tells me he probably had a decent tan. Add to that the Nazirite vow that he had taken, means he would have had a MUCH bigger beard than the paintings would suggest. Ironically, Osama Bin Ladin*, has more of the true “Jesus Look” than the paintings.
*Probably the worst comparison I’ll ever make in my life, considering they’re on opposite ends of the moral spectrum, but I digress…
Not to be serious or anything, but poor old Jude was the reason that we all got saved souls, wasn’t he. I mean no Xifiction no hellish harrowing no saviour, no salvation. And then the bible buggers give him a bad write up. Not fair I say!
I like to think Judas only did what Jesus wanted him to do (dunno if the kiss was asked for too, or Judas improvising), meaning Judas saved us all. At least if you believe that stuff. But I think it would make it a much more interesting storyline, more complex and neat in every way. That’s why I like to think Judas was meant to “betray” Jesus, and he’s really the hero. Other vice it’s a dumb and predictable story.
Besides it’s always fun to discuss the probability with Christians, and watch them get all confused with their feelings towards Judas.
a friend randomly found an image of one of your comics online, thought it was funny, and linked it to me. upon seeing it, I immediately came to your site, and after reading a few more of your comics had to go to the beginning and read them all.

Big fan of the comic! Love your artistic style and humor.
Also, just wanted to mention…copyright still says 2012. Sorry, OCD compels me to bring it up.

Thank you for not presenting a white, blond Jesus.
I hate white, blonde Jesus! It makes me feel awkward to even think about it!
Agreed!
Great comic as ever.

Whoa, seriously? I mean, I’ve seen plenty of ridiculous White Jesuses (Jesusi?), but one with blonde hair? I gotta go Google that one, methinks.

Judas facial expression is great.
I like Jesus’ one in the third panel, myself.
“Partake of this crazy bread, it is my body.”
Have you read the Gospel of Judas?

The necessity of the Villain.
Thank you for drawing Jesus this way!!! Nothing pisses me off like blond hair blue eyed Jesus. Dude was middle eastern!
